Sheldon - my horse.  He’s a Chestnut Quarter Horse with a beautiful white blaze.  He’s a great horse with a great disposition, good ground manners and lots of get up and go!  Finding a horse is like finding a spouse (horse people will know what I’m talking about!), it has to be a good fit and I couldn’t have asked for a better horse.
Never thought I’d be riding horses ever in my life but then I married a farm girl and this is what we enjoy doing together. I got Sheldon in April of 2012, and it’s hard to believe I’ve only had him 1.5 years.  Sheldon is 8 years old and currently ambitious to become the boss horse in our small herd.  He started out as a good horse but has come even further with training.  I originally took him to Mirka with Equine Foundations and she gave him some great training and came back an even better horse.  When I first got him he didn’t like for his head to be handled but I’ve fixed him of that, sometimes you just have to be more hard-headed and stubborn than the horse!  I subscribe to the natural horsemanship method and it’s been a fun journey to not only see my horse improve but also to become a better rider and partner with him.
Shot with Mamiya RZ67 Pro II with 110mm Sekor lens on Kodak Portra 400 film and processed by the FILM lab.
